Abu Dhabi, UAE – July 3, 2024 – Emirates Float Glass, a renowned global leader in the float glass industry and a wholly owned subsidiary of Dubai Investments, has signed a pivotal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC). This agreement not only aims to advance energy efficiency and sustainability in Abu Dhabi’s manufacturing sector but also recognizes Emirates Float Glass as one of the few prestigious companies selected to be a strategic partner in  the pioneering Energy Efficiency Club (EEC).

The primary objective of the MoU is to enhance cooperation in promoting energy efficiency and sustainability within Abu Dhabi’s industrial landscape. Central to this initiative is the establishment of the Energy Efficiency Club (EEC), in which EFG is an active member with its energy saving initiatives in float glass manufacturing sector. The EEC will facilitate workshops and forums for industrial site owners and operators to exchange best practices in energy management. As part of its scope, the MoU outlines regular meetings and presents opportunities to share each other’s best practices in Energy Savings to showcase effective energy efficiency measures and address the challenges faced by EEC participants.

The EEC initiative, spearheaded by Emirates Float Glass, will be integral to the MoU, providing a dynamic platform for sharing knowledge and practical insights into energy efficiency. This initiative will feature workshops that cover best practices in energy management specifically tailored for industrial sites, as well as site tours to showcase effective energy efficiency practices in real-world settings. Additionally, it will address challenges faced by industrial operators through collaborative solutions that leverage shared expertise and innovative approaches.

This MoU is set to be effective for one year from the date of signing, with the potential for further binding agreements based on the outcomes of the collaborative efforts. It signifies a strategic move to harness the collective strengths of both parties in promoting energy-efficient industrial operations, contributing to Abu Dhabi’s broader sustainability goals.
